Item is still sealed with no signs of concern to the jacket.Hello and thank you for your interest. That soundtrack was perfect.Limited Run Games 2LP vinyl video game soundtrack to Axiom Verge 2. (or a mix of the two styles based on context) System Shock 2 (not an indie obviously) probably mixed the two better than anything else I've ever played. There's also something to be said for a game that forgoes more traditional music, and uses soundscapes effectively. I'd say the Indie games with the best music (off the top of my head) in recent years would be FEZ, Shovel Knight, Hyper Light Drifter, The Messenger, Cuphead, Nidhogg, Cyber Shadow, and I'm sure if I thought a bit more I could list another 20 or so that stood out as having exceptional quality. It has an ancient civilization feel to it, so the styles of music it has do seem pretty good for the game. In the case of Axiom Verge 2, it wouldn't be my go to style of music to listen to, but it does seem to suit the game pretty well. However, in the case of Axiom Verge (original) while some of the music wasn't my favorite, some of it was actually quite good, and fit the levels well. If it's bad, then I'll either try with it turned off, or maybe even skip the game. If it's decent, but doesn't quite fit, that can be a bit jarring. So as long as the music is good for what it is, it at least isn't going to bother me. That said, I don't expect all game soundtracks to be my thing. It can make a good game absolutely excellent, and even drag up a mediocre game to being pretty decent. YouTube videos require cookies, you must accept their cookies to view. I agree completely about the importance of music in games. Axiom Verge 2 from Thomas Happ Games has jumped over from the Epic Store to Steam and it comes with Native Linux support and it is also Steam Deck Verified This was made with Ethan Lee's FNA, so it's another quality port too and uses the Vulkan API. It gives enough options even on the switch, so I can't imagine it being any different on the PC. (not optimal of course)ĭefaultUser Since this game mimics a style of game that came from consoles in the first place, I don't think you need to worry about that. Also, it does have volume sliders for Sound/Music, so I guess killing it is an option. It's an odd mixture, but it works for whatever reason. There's a bit more of that style music in the second one, but there are also some really nice, heavy atmospheric tracks in it too. Much like in Axiom Verge 1, new protagonist Indra acquires the ability to launch a small, remote metallic pal pretty early on in the game, allowing you to crawl through small passageways and reach new areas that are inaccessible to you as a human. ![]() I'd still give the first one another shot though. The grappling hook is arguably the secret star of Axiom Verge 2 - or more precisely, it's the robot drone it's attached to. However, I do agree that some of it does not fit the game, and some isn't at all to my taste. Relapse808 I think SOME of the music is actually pretty good. I haven't gotten more than a few hours in, but I'm enjoying it. (Sorry, I know my comments are typically heavy-handed where they're concerned If you like their shop, that's totally fine.) No reason not to, and I won't buy things from Epic. He basically got his indie start on Steam, so I would hope he wouldn't abandon it completely. I would guess that it will be on Steam, and maybe other consoles after a while. It's currently also running a 10 launch discount until next Thursday. For those who fancy a bit of grappling around a strange planet and fighting aliens, and who didn't pick it up the first time around, Axiom Verge 2 is out now on Steam for 15.49. Since it's on EGS, it's probably their standard Epic-Bullshit-TM. There are few games in which a grappling hook drone would not be the best part, in my opinion. I read something like "releases on other platforms to be announced". ![]()
